The construction of the 1,400 space Lane Avenue Parking Garage
is now scheduled to begin Monday, April 28th, 2008. The new
parking garage, which will be located at the southeast corner
of Lane Avenue and Tuttle Park Place, will create a net gain
of 1,000 parking spaces (1,400 new garage) in the north campus
area. The garage is estimated to open early Winter Quarter
2010.
The loss of 400 surface parking spaces will impact daily
parking availability and may create a “ripple effect”
in other areas of campus as customers relocate to new areas.
To accommodate current "CP" permit holders in the
North Dorm are for the remainder of this permit year, Transportation
& Parking will exchange up to 100 CP permits with a hangtag/keycard
that will provide access and overnight parking ability in
two North Campus area garages. The permit exchange, which
starts with the first exchange at Neilwood Gables on April
9th, will be as follows:
CP PERMIT EXCHANGE (Beginning
April 9th, 2008)

• Neilwood Gables (near the main office)
• Please note: Because we have
a finite number of these permits, students will not be able
to exchange their parking permit at our 160 Bevis Hall customer
service office during the Neilwood Gables exchange times.)
Dates:
• Wednesday, April 9th, 2:00PM – 4:00PM
• Thursday, April 10th, 9:30AM – 11:30AM
• Friday, April 11th, 1:00PM – 3:00PM
• Dates listed are dependant on permit availability.
The exchange will end once all 100 garage keycards have been
issued. Any exchange date cancellations once we run out of
permits will be posted on our web site.
What to Bring With You:
• Current “CP” parking pass
• A new “C”
parking permit application (Be sure to remember your license
plate number.)
How Will The Permit Exchange Work?
A limited number of garage keycards will be available for
students with an existing CP permit who have been parking
in the Tuttle parking lots. Transportation & Parking Services
has identified the 170 total CP permit holders living in the
north dorm area, and will notify each customer via e-mail
regarding the specific details of the permit exchange. The
following options are available during the exchange:
• 100 garage keycards will be available to current CP
holders on a first-come, first-served basis for a permit exchange
at no additional cost. The garage keycard must be used to
park in the Tuttle Park Place garage or the Arps garage for
the remainder of the 2007-2008 permit year, which ends August
31, 2008.
- Please note: Students that
obtain the garage keycard must park overnight in the Tuttle
Park Place or Arps garages only and are NOT permitted
to use the keycard to park in a “CP” surface
parking space after 6pm.
- The keycard must be clearly displayed at all times when
parked in the garage.
• The remaining CP permit holders who do not get a
garage keycard may park in the 75 CP surface spaces by Taylor
Tower.
Students with a “CP”
parking permit must relocate their vehicles to the Taylor
Tower lot by Sunday, April 27th. Any vehicles remaining in
the Tuttle “CP” lots on April 28th, 2008 at 5:00AM
will be towed.
