9th ave surface parking lot closes permanently on MOnday, June 23rd

The 9th Avenue surface parking lot, located directly east of the existing 9th Avenue Garage, closes permanently on Monday, June 23, 2008. The lot is closing so that construction can begin on the new, 997 space 9th Avenue East Garage. This garage will create a net gain of 770 new spaces (997 new garage spaces – 227 surface spaces lost to construction on top of the 9th Avenue surface parking lot) in the Medical Center area. Project completion is scheduled for Fall 2009. The loss of 227 surface parking spaces during the construction will impact daily parking availability and may create a "ripple" effect" in other areas of campus as customers relocate to new areas. Please consider the following alternatives:

Customers with Garage Keycards
A and BG2 parking permits/keycards may continue to park in the 9th Avenue, 11th Avenue, South Cannon, and Neil Avenue garages.

Customers with Surface Parking Permits
B and C parking permits (for daytime parking) and WA, WB, WC, CX and CXC permits (after 4PM weekdays) may park in the Polo Lot, located west of Cannon Drive.

Remote Park and Ride Options
Customers displaced by the 9th Ave. parking lot closure may also downgrade their central campus parking permit to a less expensive CX permit to park in the Buckeye Lot for the rest of the 2007-2008 permit year. (Current 07-08 permits expire August 31, 2008.) Customers may utilize the Med Center Express to access the Medical Center from the Buckeye Lots.

Med Center Express Now Offers New Stops and Extended Service Hours 52 Weeks a Year
Based upon customer feedback and a partnership with OSUMC, we are pleased to offer (effective June 9) the Med Center Express service 52 weeks per year, and provide timed departure points from both the Buckeye Lot and Doan Hall (including a sheltered area to now wait for the bus during inclement weather!). Med Center Express service will provide service from 5:30am - 1:00am, Monday through Friday. Bus stops include Buckeye Lot, Doan Hall, Hamilton Hall, Meiling Hall, Dodd/Davis Center, and 12th and Cannon Northbound. This route will have specific time points that the bus will depart each location as noted below:
