2009-2010 Policies and Procedures: New This Year

CABS TRIP
The CABS Transportation Route Information Program (TRIP), installed in the summer of 2008, uses GPS technology to calculate approximate arrival times of all CABS bus routes at selected bus stops throughout campus. Arrival time information is available at 13 stops on campus and is also accessible via any internet ready device. Click here for more information.

CABS East Residential Route Increases Daytime Route Frequency
Recognizing the popularity and increasing ridership on the CABS East Residential route, Transportation & Parking Services is proud to announce an increase service frequency between stops on the East Residential route during the daytime hours. This route will run Monday through Friday 6:45AM - 12:00AM year round, now with 10 minute service between the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM, translating to a 36% frequency increase during peak hours. To view route information, please visit our CABS route pages.

"CXC" and "CX" Permits Combine
The "CXC" and "CX" permits have been combined. Students interested in parking in the Buckeye Lots, located off of Ackerman Road, may now purchase the "CX" permit for the 2009-2010 academic year. The "CX" permit is eligible to park in "CX" spaces and on West Campus only 5:00AM - 3:00AM and in Central Campus "A", "B", and "C" spaces from 4:00PM - 3:00AM Monday through Friday.

Ackerman Road Complex Parking Changes
Beginning September 1, 2009, the parking lot located just south of building 7 in the Ackerman Road Complex (which is the building on the east side of the Complex), will require a Central Campus "A" or "B" parking permit. All other parking in this area will remain designated as "CX" parking through August 31, 2010. Beginning with the 2010 -11 permit year, all Ackerman Road Complex parking will require a Central Campus "A", "B", or "C" parking permit. Please visit the map to review these parking changes occuring at the Ackerman Road Complex.

Pay Machines
By the end of August 2009, 20 additional pay machines will be installed in several surface parking lots, bringing the grand total of Pay-n-Display's on campus to 43. These machines allow customers who do not have parking permits to purchase parking for a specified time and park in surface parking.

Customers insert coins or a credit card into the machine and receive a temporary parking permit/receipt for the length of time paid (parking is $1/hour at any time, a flat $3.00 Monday through Friday 6:00PM - 12:00AM, and a flat $3.00 on Saturday and Sunday, 12:00Am - 12:00AM). This permit must be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle. More information about the pay machine locations can be found on our web.

Four New Campus Garages
The new Ohio Union South Garage is now open, providing 800 new spaces to campus visitors!

The new 9th Ave. East Garage, built east of the current 9th Ave. Garage, will provide 997 spaces in the Medical Center area. The garage is scheduled to open September 2009.

The Lane Ave. Parking Garage, located at the corner of Lane Ave. and Tuttle Park Place, will provide 1,400 spaces in the central campus area. The garage will open early Winter Quarter 2010. A new Student Academic Services (SAS) building is also part of this construction project.

In association with the University's recent acquirement of the former "Holiday Inn on the Lane" hotel turned residence hall, Transportation & Parking Services will manage the garage (the Old Holiday Inn Garage) facilities for this property. This parking facility will be available to hourly and keycard parking. Keycard access this year will be limited to "A", "E", and "R" permits.

South Cannon Garage Remains Open For 2009-2010
Revisions to the Project One Medical Center Construction Initiatives have delayed the closure of the South Cannon Garage indefinitely. Information will be posted as details become available.
